The Process

How the Referral Process Works

01

Submit a Referral Inquiry

The attorney or authorized professional submits a brief inquiry describing the requested psychiatric service and applicable deadlines.

02

Scope Review

Serenity reviews the request to determine whether the matter falls within the clinician's qualifications, licensure, availability, and professional scope.

03

Fee & Service Agreement

The requested services, applicable fees, expected deliverables, and payment requirements are established before services begin. Complex matters may require an individualized quote or advance retainer.

04

Evaluation & Record Review

The psychiatric evaluation is completed, and authorized records are reviewed according to the agreed scope.

05

Documentation

When a written report has been requested, it is prepared according to the agreed scope and transmitted through an appropriate secure process.

Professional Independence

Payment Purchases Professional Time — Not a Predetermined Opinion

Serenity Healthcare Services maintains clinical independence in every evaluation.

Payment for an evaluation purchases the clinician's professional time, assessment, and independent clinical judgment. It does not purchase a predetermined diagnosis, opinion, or favorable conclusion.

Serenity Healthcare Services does not guarantee:

  • A particular psychiatric diagnosis
  • A finding favorable to either party
  • A disability determination
  • A particular legal conclusion
  • A specific treatment recommendation
  • A favorable litigation or case outcome

What every conclusion rests on

Clinical conclusions are based upon the evaluation performed, available information and records, and the clinician's independent professional judgment.

Important Professional Scope Notice

Scope of Services

Serenity Healthcare Services provides clinical psychiatric evaluations within the education, licensure, training, experience, and professional scope of the evaluating clinician.

A clinical psychiatric evaluation should not automatically be interpreted as a formal forensic psychiatric evaluation.

Requests involving competency to stand trial, criminal responsibility, insanity evaluations, child custody determinations, formal disability determinations, fitness-for-duty evaluations, independent medical examinations, expert-witness opinions, or other specialized forensic services require individual review before acceptance.

Serenity Healthcare Services reserves the right to decline any referral that falls outside the evaluating clinician's professional scope or for which an appropriate independent evaluation cannot be provided.

Services provided by Serenity Healthcare Services do not constitute legal advice.
