ADHD Evaluation and Medication Management
Structured adult ADHD assessment, diagnostic clarification, and ongoing treatment when clinically appropriate.
An answer, not a guess
Many adults reach us after years of assuming they were disorganised, lazy, or simply not trying hard enough. An ADHD evaluation at Serenity is a structured clinical assessment of attention, executive function, developmental history, and the conditions that commonly imitate ADHD.
The goal is a diagnosis you can trust — and a plan that fits the life you actually have.
What brings adults in
- Long-standing difficulty sustaining attention on unrewarding tasks
- Chronic procrastination and last-minute crisis working
- Losing track of time, deadlines, appointments, and belongings
- Restlessness, or a mind that will not settle
- Emotional reactivity and low frustration tolerance
- Underperformance relative to your own capability
- Coping strategies that stopped working after a life change
The evaluation process
Comprehensive evaluation
A 90-minute diagnostic assessment covering symptoms, developmental history, functioning, and medical and psychiatric history.
Differential review
We rule in or out the conditions that look like ADHD — anxiety, depression, trauma, sleep disorders, and medical contributors.
Treatment planning
Where a diagnosis is supported, we discuss treatment options, including medication where clinically appropriate, plus practical supports.
Ongoing management
Regular follow-up visits to monitor response, adjust treatment, and track side effects.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you prescribe stimulant medication?
Controlled-substance prescribing is evaluated case by case and depends on clinical appropriateness, your history, and the regulations of the state you are located in. We will explain clearly what we can and cannot offer during your evaluation. Please contact our office before scheduling if this is your primary question.
What if I was diagnosed as a child?
Bring what you have. Prior records, report cards, and previous treatment history are all useful, though a diagnosis is never based on paperwork alone.
Can ADHD be mistaken for something else?
Frequently. Anxiety, depression, trauma, sleep disorders, and thyroid problems can all produce attention difficulties. Distinguishing them is a core purpose of the evaluation.
